WordPress Assistant / Junior Web Developer
Job Summary:
The role of the junior developer is to respond to and fulfill care plan client support tickets as they come in, maintain care plan websites with regular software updates, and assist the Senior Developer with larger projects as required.
Responsibilities:
Captain Coder, LLC builds most of their websites using custom-created WordPress themes, so some PHP knowledge is a bonus.
Overall, this role is responsible for:
- Managing the care plan support desk in ClickUp
- Communicating with the owner’s VA and potentially care plan clients about their ticket requests
- Editing WordPress website content and images built with Captain Coder custom theme according to client requests
- Performing monthly website software updates (including core WordPress, theme, & plugins)
- Troubleshooting basic issues that come up during software updates
- Managing website backups via WPEngine
- Escalating tickets to the senior developer as needed
- Tracking care plan client support usage
Required Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS
- Comfortable with WordPress and updating plugins and WordPress core
- Able to communicate effectively
- Willing to learn on the job
- Attention to detail
Bonus Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of PHP or want to learn PHP
- Basic understanding of WordPress themes or want to learn
- Understanding of Advanced Custom Fields
- You want to grow as a coder
