Through the changes and needs they saw during the COVID pandemic, The Hatchery recognized a gap in their business. They wanted to be able to reach Chicago entrepreneurs virtually with their workshops and seminars, but in a way that worked better for their side-hustle hours. The Hatchery also recognized that they could be reaching other food and beverage entrepreneurs outside of their local area.
They came to me with a great website but one they needed to add an online learning system to.
How We Tackled the Project
We started by looking through the three main courses they wanted to have on their website for on-demand purchasing and working together to strategize a plan to create those courses in a bite-size format for the busy entrepreneurs.
Each course comes with downloadable files that assist them during the course and a survey at the end to measure how customers felt about the course they took.
Customizing LearnDash’s learning management system, I was able to provide a more user-friendly and responsive design to give a great experience on mobile or desktop devices. Course Materials are easy to access and see and each video includes a full audio transcription plus closed captions to ensure optimal accessibility.
To sell the courses, I connected LearnDash with WooCommerce so that browsers can easily pay for the course and get enrolled automatically and even take it right then and there – no wait time!
What The Hatchery Says
Marisa has been a pleasure to work with – she is incredibly professional, timely, friendly and an expert in web development. Our project was incredibly specific while also without clear direction, and Marisa was able to hone in and streamline the project to deliver a great finished concept. Marisa will walk through every aspect with you and ensure that you have a full understanding of all the work. It has been a seamless and extraordinary process especially with Marisa’s hands-on supportive approach.
